The Don DeLillo Society (hereafter referred to as the DDS) has no official affiliation with Don DeLillo and nor does it in any way represent him. The DDS is not affiliated with Scribner, Viking, Penguin, Vintage, or any other entity that has published or is publishing the work of Don DeLillo.

We hope that fans, scholars, and general readers will benefit from the website and from the exchange of ideas that the DDS seeks to promote. To that end, the DDS webpages quote selectively from DeLillo’s works, in accord with “fair use.” As per section 107 of the Copyright Act of 1976,

the fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies or phonorecords or by any other means specified in that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright.

“Fair use” notwithstanding, all visitors to the DDS pages should remember that all text written by Don DeLillo is © by Don DeLillo. So, do not download images or text from these pages, and do not use anything on these pages for any commercial purpose. Likewise, please note that the DDS is a nonbusiness association and that the DDS pages are a nonbusiness site.

If you have copyright questions concerning the work of Don DeLillo, do not ask us. Instead, please see question number two on our FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions). Excepting the photograph of DeLillo and and text by DeLillo, the Don DeLillo Society‘s pages are © 1999-2006 by the Don DeLillo Society. These web pages are intended for educational purposes only.
